斯卡布羅集市原是一首古老的英國民歌，其起源可一直追溯到中世紀。它曾被英國民歌之父麥考選進他編輯的一本介紹英國民歌的書中。後來英國民歌手馬汀·卡西（Martin Carthy）在原歌的基礎上加進了自己的再創造，將它變成了一首愛情歌曲。
