unique意思有：

1、作形容詞時譯為“獨特的，稀罕的；唯一的，獨一無二的”；unique沒有比較級，最高階的用法，只能用一些quite， almost， nearly， really之類的詞修飾。

2、作名詞時譯為“獨一無二的人或物”。對於unique來說，用more，very，somewhat等詞來說是毫無意義的，但是人們習慣上還是如此使用。uniqueness只有是與不是的區分，而no unique thing則是就另一獨特的事物而言，多或少一點獨特的程度。
