《我的1997》電視劇是以76年至97年香港迴歸前後陸港兩地二十多年的歲月變遷為點，知情高建國和安慧之間的情感之線作為故事。知青高建國因失手重傷戀人安慧的哥哥安國慶，就此開啟異鄉逃亡之路，和母親流落香港，就此被迫於家人愛人分離。他與母親來到香港創業夾縫中求生存，卻就此與李氏集團千金李佳欣結緣，在她幫助下創辦了國盛電子廠，還兩人情定終身。

李佳欣是建國的第二個戀人，同時也是對他事業上幫助最大的人。但是兩人卻有緣無分，李佳欣因為意外車禍身亡，但是在彌留之際懇求高建國保住父親的李氏集團。於是高建國透過努力苦心經營，使得李氏集團起死回生。後來帶著安慧，帶來公墓給李佳欣鮮花，請她放心未來日子將伴隨照顧建國。雖然她與建國的緣分因為車禍就此陰陽相隔，但是起碼高建國對於她的愛一直都未變。
