1、this / it is the third time that you have been late this month

定語從句：that指代time，需要在從句中充當主語、賓語或表語，you have been late this month是主系表結構，主語和表語都有，說明that不是句中的任何成分。如果把這個句子改為it is the third time （that） you have been late this month （for），that成為介詞for的賓語，就變成了定語從句。不過這種說法很拗口，沒有人這樣講。
