一、區別：

首先，沒有use to be， 只有used to be， 表示“過去常常是……“，實際上，這裡的be並不是與used to 固定搭配，used to就表示”過去常常“，它後面也可接其它動詞的。

其次它們的區別是：use sth to do sth意思是用前者（某工具或者方法）做什麼（後者，是某件事）。

used to do是說過去經常做某事，現在也可能經常做。還有一個相似的詞是Be used to doing，意思是說過去經常做某事但是現在不再做了

二、用法：

used to do sth。 和be used to doing sth。 還有be used to do sth。

1、be used to do sth。被用來做某事

例如：Computers are used to do many things for people now。

現在計算機被用來做許多事情。

2、used to do sth。 過去常常做某事（現在不做了）

例如：I used to get up early and take an hour‘s walk before breakfast。

我過去常常起床很早並且在早餐前散步一小時

3、be used to doing sth習慣於做某事

例如：She isn’t used to living in the countryside now。

她不習慣在鄉下生活。

4、used to表示過去常常做某事。

例句： I used to play football after school。過去我常常在放學後踢球。

5、be used to do的意思是被用來做某事；be used to doing的意思是習慣於做某事。

7、used to + do：“過去常常”表示過去習慣性的動作或狀態，但如今已不存在。

8、be used to + doing： 對……已感到習慣，或“習慣於”，to是介詞，後需加名詞或動名詞。

9、use doing 沒有這個用法

10、used to do曾經/過去常常做某事，如：

He used to live in the country。他曾經住在農村。

11、be used doing習慣於做某事，這裡的to 是介詞，後面不跟動詞原形，跟ing形式，如：

He is used to living in the country now。他現在習慣了住在農村。

12、be used to do被用於，如：

This knife can be used to cut things。這把刀能夠被用於切東西。
