whom是用在定語從句中，做介詞的賓語，指人。而them是用在並列句中。

如： He has many friends， most of whom are Chinese。這句是定語從句。

He has many friends， and most of them are Chinese。

或He has many friends。Most of them are Chinese。 這兩句是並列關係。

whom是從句的引導詞，放在從句的前面來引導從句

them是直接在從句裡面當賓語的

。The old man has two sons，one  of whom  is a teacher。

of whom  ，因為原本句子會是one of them is a teacher，而此句子是從句，所以將them替換成whom，而且在of後面要用賓格，所以不能選them

He had a lot of friends，only a few of whom invited to his wedding。
